
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born July 10, 1980 is an American singer-actress, actress businesswoman, philanthropist and entrepreneur. Simpson aged 17 years old, started her career in church choirs. She signed with Columbia Records in 1997. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies in the United States and saw the commercial huge success of the hit single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson took on a more mature appearance for her sophomore studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America declared it gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It sold three million copies in the United States. In her previous career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and subsequent wedding to Nick Lachey, with whom she also appeared on the MTV reality television series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's first album for Christmas ReJoyce was released in the year 2004 and it was certified gold. She made her debut in the film Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2006). She also sang a cover of "These Boots Are Made for Walking" to be used in the soundtrack of the film. Simpson released her fifth studio album A Public Affair in 2006 and was also in the romantic comedy movie Employee of the Month. Simpson moved into country music in 2008 with the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008). Simpson also introduced The Jessica Simpson Collection, the brand's fashion-oriented line, which includes 34 product categories. The brand is the most successful company for celebrity licensing ever with over $1 billion in sales to the present. In 2010, she played in the reality series The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion-related designs during Fashion Star's two seasons between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson and has three children.
