Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece then moved to England when she was 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she became a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna has led to the attraction of many famous contributors who shared their views on current events political, culture and politics. Arianna was famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes identified her as the most influential woman in the field of media in the year 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the ranking. The Guardian added her to the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship to her mom shaped the rest of her life. Through her early years, she exhibited leadership skills for which are still prominently known. When she was 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. As a student she was a member of the Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college which she later became the first female and foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
